The Tolna territory is made of the Tolna, Völgység, and Tamási vineyards where mainly white varieties show the chance of producing great wines. The potentials are now being brought to light with a growing number of finely cultivated vineyards. A master wine-maker can make wonders on this soil mixing clay, sand and loess with favourable weather conditions. Leading varieties of the territory are Chardonnay for whites and Kékfrankos for reds. Outstandingly attractive cellar rows are expecting visitors at Györköny, that was awarded the Europa Nostra prize as well as at Nagyszékely rebuilt in the scope of a Phare project and on the Sárgödör cellar row at Paks, selected the most flowery community in the country.
