The Badacsony wine
Services »

The Badacsony wine growing territory comprises the most attractive volcanic hills on the northern coast of the lake: St George Hill, Csobánc, Gulács Haláp, and Tóti Hill are part of this territory, just like Badacsony itself. Vineyards cover mostly the western slopes and sunshine refracted from the surface of the lake along with the property of basalt stones to radiate the best part of the day’s heat back during the night create an especially favourable macro-climate for the growing of vines. Vine roots penetrating deep into the volcanic base rock lend special minerality to the wines of the territory. These natural conditions are especially favourable for white wines, among which Olaszrizling dominates with almost three quarters of all growth. An exquisite variety of the Badacsony terrain is Kéknyel?, which unveils its miraculous/fabulous aromas only after long years of ageing.
