The Balatonfüred-Csopak territory lies on the northern coast from Balatonalmádi to Zánka. What makes this area distinct is the general presence of the red subsoil which, reflected in the aromas of wines grown here lends them a truly individual character. The territory is dominated by Olaszrizling as the whole northern coast but red vines are also well off on the Tihany peninsula, especially the Merlot and Kékfrankos varieties. There are several excellent wineries in the area, especially in Balatonfüred and Csopak.
